Italian. "The curved former a vault is built over."
Centina — Italian for the curved former a vault is built over — is a figure built from short bronze struts welded into an open cage, balanced on one leg with the body wound back on itself. The struts alternate blackened and gilt, and the head is a single polished sphere. Shown on a fluted travertine drum. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, six to eight weeks.
