Bronze
Cast, chased and patinated by hand. Twelve surfaces from one metal, and the one material on the site that gets better with every year outside.
The short version
Bronze, In Six Lines
An alloy of copper and tin, cast for three thousand years and still the material of public memory. It wears its age on its surface.
What the surface can be
The Patinas
Nine surfaces from one metal. Patina is chemistry and heat, applied by hand, then sealed with wax.
PolishedBright warm gold. Waxed to hold the shine.
ChampagnePale gold, softly brushed. The contemporary bronze.
Antique BrownThe classical patina — hand-rubbed, mid-brown.
Dark BronzeDeep brown to black on the high points.
Near-BlackChemically darkened, then waxed. Reads as stone.
WeatheredPitted, uneven, aged in the workshop.
VerdigrisBlue-green, accelerated. The seaside bronze.
Rust & UmberWarm oxides on cast texture.
Gilt & BlackenedGold leaf against a black ground.
Woven WireBronze wire, woven and brazed. Almost weightless.
IridescentHeat-coloured plates — blue, green and gold.
On StoneA bronze seat on a marble base. The pairing we make most.
How it is made
From Model To Metal
Casting is slow because every step is a mould of the last one. That slowness is what makes the detail.

Where Will It Live?
Bronze goes almost anywhere. The patina is what changes.
Warm rooms, warm light, close up.
White walls, clean lines.
Sun and dust, seen from a distance.
Salt air and splash.
Send us the room and we will sample two patinas against your finishes before we pour.

Questions We Get Asked
Does bronze go green?+
Left unwaxed outdoors, bronze slowly develops a verdigris patina — that is the metal protecting itself. An annual wax holds whatever patina you chose; skipping it lets the piece age naturally.
Which is more durable outdoors, bronze or stainless steel?+
Both are excellent. Marine-grade steel resists coastal corrosion; bronze weathers gracefully and its patina deepens. Both last generations in the Gulf climate with straightforward care.
Why does bronze take longer than steel?+
Casting is a chain of moulds — model, wax, ceramic shell, pour, chase, patina. Each stage waits on the last. Eight to twelve weeks is typical from an approved model.
Can you cast a piece from my own model or a 3D file?+
Yes. We work from physical models, scans or 3D files, resolve the piece as a print for approval, then mould and cast.
Can bronze and stone be combined?+
Yes, and often should be — a cast bronze seat on a marble base, or a figure on a travertine block, is a pairing we make constantly.
Is bronze more expensive than stone?+
It depends on the form. Bronze is priced by casting volume and finishing hours; a small detailed figure is efficient in bronze and costly in stone, while a large simple mass is the reverse. We quote both when it is close.

Hold The Sample
Every stone, patina and finish on these pages is on the studio wall. Bring the drawings, sit with the samples, take them to the site.

Haven't Made Yet
Send a model, a sketch or a reference patina. We will resolve it as a 3D print, sample the surface, and come back with a price.
