About this piece

Wathba 150

Arabic. "A leap."

Wathba — Arabic for a leap — is a panther caught mid-stride as it comes down the wall onto a woven-pattern plinth, tail raised and shoulders rolling forward. Cast in antique brass, the plinth stands on the floor and the body runs up the wall behind it, so the animal reads as moving through the room rather than applied to it. Made for library walls, stair landings and tall reception rooms. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, 30–45 days.
