About this piece

Madar

Arabic. Orbit.

Madar — Arabic for orbit — is a circular wall work of concentric rings: a broad gunmetal rim, a recessed black band, and a spun copper core that holds its turning marks. The steps catch raking light and throw a ring of shadow that moves through the day. Made for living rooms, hearth walls and hotel lobbies. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, six to eight weeks.
