About this piece

Falak

Arabic. An orbit.

Falak — Arabic for an orbit — is an elliptical form woven from fine steel wire across a rim that twists as it travels, so the surface becomes a saddle rather than a plane. The weave darkens toward the centre where the lines converge. Made for reception walls, stair halls and gallery runs. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, six to eight weeks.
