Baydawi — Arabic for ovate — is a broad ellipse woven from fine steel wire, drawn inward to an open oval void at the centre. The weave thickens where the surface turns, so the form appears to gather light toward its opening. Made for reception walls, corridors and double-height halls. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, six to eight weeks.
