About this piece

Zill

Arabic. Shadow.

Zill — Arabic for shadow — is a stack of curved blades in near-black bronze, each shorter than the one above, tapering to a point close to the floor. The gaps between the blades do the work: the piece is mostly the shadow it casts. Made for lounges, screened walls and reception rooms. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, six to eight weeks.
