About this piece

Sunbula

Arabic. An ear of grain.

Sunbula — Arabic for an ear of grain — is a pointed leaf whose plates are laid in a braided chevron, alternating timber, black and silver so the rows appear to interlace rather than simply overlap. The braid tightens toward the tip, where the three tones fall into a single line. Made for entrance halls, stair walls and dining rooms. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, six to eight weeks.
