About this piece

Canna

Italian. "A reed."

Canna — Italian for a reed — is a bundle of slender blackened rods cut to graded lengths and massed into a lens silhouette. Where its siblings mix finishes, this one holds a single tone, so the work reads entirely as silhouette and shadow. Made for stair walls, lift lobbies and narrow piers. Made to order in the 1-OPH atelier, six to eight weeks.
